As my Genteel Messenger continues to evolve, this version is even more user-friendly with an adjustable buckle strap and front, back and inside pockets.
This funky skeleton key messenger bag is based on the design of my Genteel style skeleton key wallets. Sturdily handcrafted from supple Espresso dark brown leather with matching top stitching, over time your bag will acquire the weathered, elegant look of an old best friend. Light scratches simply buff away with a soft cloth, one characteristic of a high-quality hide.
The contoured flap is 2-ply leather and cleverly fastens with a magnificent large antique skeleton key. A cut leather tab adorned with two antique nickel buttons holds the key in place.
The Deluxe Genteel Messenger is a roomy shoulder bag with ample space for toting books and papers effortlessly.
In addition to a large front pocket, a stylized pocket lends elegance to the back as well, and makes a bonus nook for that small paperback or other lightweight essentials you may need to reach quickly. I also added a large inside zippered pocket as well as a cell phone pocket because you asked so nicely!
The buckled shoulder strap is generously sized so the bag can be worn diagonally across the body. It has been riveted in place with antique nickel rivets and features a large antique nickel buckle that gives you some leeway for adjustment.
