This Beautiful Autumn Quilt I created with my new Painted Windows pattern and fabrics from Deb Strain’s Fabulous Fall collection. These popular fabrics are out of Print and hard to find. Fall Butterflies, leaves, acorns and more in rich colors of Cranberry, Pumpkin, Teal, Brown, Tan and leaf Green.
The top is constructed of window blocks alternating the Colorful Fall fabrics with the Vanilla Swirl from the same collection. The backing is the Beautiful Vanilla Butterflies print. With cotton batting between the layers, I machine quilted in a freehand meandering and finish with a traditional hand stitched binding around the edges.
After completion I machine washed the Quilt on gentle cycle using a gentle laundry detergent and tumbled dried on low heat till damp then hung dry. I love the way the fabrics and batting shrink up around the quilting stitches giving it that comfy crinkled look.
Pictures do not capture the true beauty of my Quilts. When you see one of my Quilts in person and hold it in your hands; you will know you have a Treasure.
