This is one of my favorite mobiles. When Frank Lloyd Wright asked Alexander Calder if he would create a large mobile for Wright’s new Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Calder said “sure”. But Wright had one caveat. He insisted that the mobile be gold. Calder, not being one that liked being told what to do he said “Sure I’ll make it gold but I’ll paint it black!” Calder didn’t get the job….Calder didn't much care one way or the other.
It measures 38" wide, 36" ht.
