The sleeves are slitted for a very feminine look. The edges of the sleeves are raw but double stitched so they will not open.

Some of the suggested ways to wear the dress (picture number 3)will leave the bust exposed and you will need a strapless piece underneath. The intersection between the straps falls about 1"-1.5" below the bust point.
