Hand Spun Single Ply Yarn
Here is a skein of handspun bamboo yarn, spun by me from hand dyed bamboo fiber from Fiberlady, color "Fiesta". All colors of the rainbow in this one, with orange and red being the dominant shades. A bit darker than previous skeins.

Wraps per inch: 14-15
Gauge per inch: 5.5-6.5
Recommended needles: 5 (metric: 3.75-4.25)
Recommended hook: E, F
DK/Sport weight
Bamboo is washable but due to the dyeing I would still wash this in cool water and air dry.

Bamboo is a renewable, sustainable resource that doesn't need herbicides/pesticides/excessive watering to grow - it is very plentiful and grows very fast. Due to the fiber structure of bamboo, it can absorb and evaporate sweat from human skin very quickly (thus making it very cool in summer!). Bamboo has the sheen, weight and drape of silk but much more durable! As wonderful as it is, please keep in mind that it has NO memory like WOOL does, so it may not be good for fitted knitting or crochet projects unless used with another yarn. But, for draping projects or projects where elasticity is not required, it is excellent! And SO soft and shiny!
