It's hard to blame them. Imagine if your life consisted of being repeatedly poked and occasionally cursed at. It's not their fault that you still don't completely understand what that "input" button does. You'd hide too.
Here's a practical solution - a recycled knit shirt, converted to a couch pillow, with (this is the good part) a dedicated remote control pocket! Here's a comfy little nest where your remote can go to calm down and rebuild its' self-esteem. The soothing tones of the fabric help the little guy detox from a day of your constant jabbing, not to mention the shows you make him watch.
Really, if he has to watch Buzz Aldrin try to dance one more time...
