It has black chantilly lace and metallic thread soutache ornamentation at the bodice and on the skirt as well. The dropped waist features smocking all around.
It is lined with two different silks, the bodice is a slightly paler pink and is more of a handkerchief type of silk. The bottom is more of a shocking pink and is a lovely and heavier pure silk (more like a lightweight silk crepe) that silk nightgowns are often made. The pink slip is scalloped at the hemline. It is sleeveless and has snaps on the pink under slip as well as on the main black taffeta. The pink under slip has 4 snaps.
It is not in perfect condition as it does have a number of flaws. I would say this dress is not in the most wearable condition, it's more of a study piece or a display piece. This is due to the fragile nature of the main fabric.
The black dress has 7 snaps, 1 is totally missing, 1 is rusted, 1 needs to be stitched back to its proper side and another is half missing. There is also a hook & eye at the top which is rusted and there are two other hooks & eyes which are fine. The slip has a tear near one of the snaps and also has some dark marks here and there. There are some holes in the lace and as shown in one of the photos it has been mended under the right arm and has other tears starting.
These were meant to simply go over the head and fit on the typically slim flapper physique, so it should be worn loose.
Please rely on the following measurements, all taken from the outside. You should be smaller than the measurements in order for this to fit you properly.
