The exterior is two-tone orange and white, with orange, black and gold streaks on the speaker grill. The Zenith name and logo is on front of the lid. So fabulous!
This is Zenith model HP-6V, circa 1950s. This model is quite rare and highly collectible. It measures approximately 12 1/2"w by 7 1/2"h by 10 1/2"d and weighs a hefty 8 1/2 pounds.
This portable suitcase-style record player has a handle on the side and a lid that lifts up to reveal the orange flocked turntable and tone-arm as well as the Tone and Volume knobs. (When closed, the lid does not latch securely anymore, though.) There is also a knob for switching the speeds between 16s, 33s, 45s and 78s. The machine has a 5-foot power cord with a standard 2-prong plug at the end.
The exterior does show some wear, including some dark blemishes on the white finish, and some areas where the vinyl coating has worn off the particle board structure. Please see the photos for condition, and feel free to ask for additional pics.
This record player does not seem to be in functioning order at the moment, and it has been priced accordingly. When plugged in, I can hear the motor lightly whirring, however the turntable does not turn. This is being sold as-is, as a decorative piece.
**Due to the vintage nature of this item there may be some slight imperfections, resulting in extra character and charm.
