Beaded Necklace - Lord of the Rings Doors of Moria

This piece is based on the illustration in J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The design is on the Doors of Moria, the entrance to a dark realm full of danger. The trees represent the Elves, the hammer and anvil the Dwarves; the crown is the King of the Dwarves'. The piece was hand-beaded in peyote stitch, using black and galvanized silver Japanese Delica beads. The neckstrap is 24" long, so it can be slipped over the head. This piece took 15 hours to bead.
