I made these Mitts as Man Mitts - heavy duty, super chunky and a little bigger than usual - but if you were to get these for your man, there is every chance you will borrow them yourself to do some heavy duty laboring in the garden, moving stuff with a wheelbarrow, pottering about the shed, lugging pot plants about on the patio, moving stuff about, feeding the hens, holding anything with weight in your hands to protect your palms, like metal buckets and watering cans ... you get the idea.
I double-up the wool/acrylic yarn - actually I think I knitted in triple and it was already a chunky weight - anyway - they are super-chunky for you or your man, or both.
