The theme is summer romance. What is more romantic than Kauai, Hawaii?
We were also asked to include a new technique. Mine was to make a toggle clasp, which is the focal for this luau necklace. The five charms and pendant, as well as the toggle I made with ArtClay silver metal clay. They all have designs on the back, with the greeting of 'Aloha' written on the back of the hula girl pendant.
The charms are a turtle, surf board, palm tree and a flip flop.
The charms are wire wrapped with sterling silver wire to super lustrous white keishi pearls and rhodalite garnets, with pink pearls and pink mystic quartz dangles finished with spirals. Set above the pendant is a single aaa pink topaz. The fine silver toggle bar is set with a lab created ruby.
Perfect for a wedding on the beach or just a fun reminder of the beauty of Kauai!
Necklace is 18 1/2 inches long.
A note on precious metal clay:
ArtClay silver is a recycled product that consists of fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. The clay can be worked like other forms of clay, sculpted to almost any shape you desire. The product is then fired at an extremely high temperature, either by kiln or torch. The binder burns away resulting a pure silver (.999) piece.
