The ear-piece is made using enameled copper wire in purple and blue and bright aluminum wire (the silver color). I twist and cut the wire for the earrings myself, so there are some places in the copper rings where the copper color shows through where it was cut. It isn't very noticeable, though, but this is just a heads up so you know.
At the end of the ear-piece are two tiny blue glass seed beads, two slightly larger plastic beads in silver and purple, and a large glass bead that's blue, silver, and purple around it. The earring parts are two silver-colored metal post earrings. The entire ear-piece is 3 1/2" (8.9 cm) long from top earring ball to bottom bead, and is 2" (5.1 cm) long from earring post to earring post.
This earring can be worn in either ear.
