Marquee letter R

R is for Reading :)

Offering an antique metal marquee letter "R" in the old chippy, painted metal. Old stock that was rented out to theaters or stores for signs in the early 1900's.

This measures about 8&1/2" in height (measuring up to flange) x 4&1/2" wide. The flange is bent back for hanging, we like to tack old trim molding to the wall and hang the letters from it :)

The letters are concave which gives them a 3-D appearance.

These were produced from the late 1800's through the early 1900's, the last patent date was 1917.

We will be listing other numbers and letters in the chippy paint and also have some of the original unpainted numbers, New/old stock listed for sale.

The books are not included in this listing, however they are available here http://www.etsy.com/listing/52563032/vintage-books-3-is-a-collection

We recommend over spraying this with a matte sealant or varnish since this is most likely lead based paint.

Shipping fees do not include insurance coverage.

No discounts offered on letters for multiple purchases.
