Wow, at last! A durable party tray that repels water! How is this possible? The tray has been coated with four coats of Spar Urethane, a very durable protective finish used on boats and water skis. It has been torture tested by placing a glass of ice water on the tray and leaving it sit for an hour, until the water puddles. Wipes with a damp cloth, and leaves no destructive ring in the lovely finish! This tray has been made of very hard maple wood, by my husband, the foreman of Atlantic Custom Woodcraft here in Florida. It has been constructed in such a way that the sides and bottom can 'breathe' with temperature changes, avoiding warping.
This tray is extra large--interior dimensions (approximate) are 19-1/2" long by 13-1/2" wide, with the galleried sides roughly 1-1/2" high. Shown comfortably holding eight party wine glasses, but could easily hold four more.
