Island Turquoise Heart - pendant or pin
While visiting the studio Di, a long-time customer, exclaimed, "You need to do something in island colors!" On her way to a far-flung scuba diving adventure, she swayed a little, already hearing some island song. I invited her to pick out the colors and this is what emerged. Beautiful bright turquoise with notes of red, orange, lime, hot pink, and a hint of speckled black and white.
Measurements: 2 1/8” H X 1 3/4” W

FABRIC JEWELS
Simple in concept, but challenging in execution, the process I use to create my unique lightweight fiber millefiori jewelry is my own invention. I have worked to evolve and refine my methods for over 20 years. The third photo above is of a demo-rollie to give you an idea how it all comes together. The pieces in the photos are samples of this design. I create multiples of my designs in a limited number. Each fabric jewel is made from a roll that varies in shape from slice to slice. My use of hand dyed fabrics and cords imbues these slices with a lively glow and creates color changes throughout the roll. These factors ensure each piece is slightly different and has it’s own one of a kind beauty.
