Argentium silver costs more than traditional sterling, but it has a wonderful property that makes it worth it: Argentium is tarnish-resistant!
Argentium silver is sterling silver that’s had some of the copper in the alloy replaced with germanium. While copper reacts with the atmosphere to create a dark tarnish on silver, the germanium has the wonderful property of creating a clear, protective layer on the surface that slows coppers reaction tremendously, making a decidedly low-maintenance silver--a fabulous development for silver lovers!
As a bonus, it can be worn by many people sensitive to standard sterling.
Clean Argentium with soap and water. For a special shine, use a paste of baking soda and water and a soft toothbrush
