My philosophy about makeup is that it is supposed to enhance your natural beauty, not cover it up. Covering up your face with a tinted moisturizer or foundation that is thick enough to make you look like you are wearing a mask, doesn't make you look any younger, nor more beautiful. It just makes you look like you are wearing a mask!
I believe that a tinted face moisturizer isn't supposed to give color to your face. You can brighten up your face with blush, lipstick and eyeshadow if you want more color. No, a tinted face moisturizer should actually blend into your skin so that it is almost invisible, but it leaves an all over effect that noticably smoothes out your skin texture and evens your skin tone, while still allowing you to see your freckles, if you have any.
I also believe that a tinted face moisturizer, which is something that we use in harsh daylight, should leave no deposits in the pores or the lines on your face, so when I tried out my new tinted face moisturizer formula, I went outside with a mirror to see what it looked like, and I had to remake the formula a few times before I found a recipe I was happy with.
Tinted face moisturizers are very difficult to make. The color should be subtle, and neither too pink, nor too yellow, it should match many different skin tones, and ideally, the coverage should be buildable, and there should be enough light diffusing particles in it to give your face a subtle glow. So, there you have it - no easy task...
So, after trying the tinted face moisturizer on people with many different skin tones, I settled on 2 shades that I believe will match most light to medium skin tones, light, for pale, fair and light skin and medium for tan or medium colored skin. However, if you are in doubt which of the tinted face moisturizers that will match your skin best, I recommend buying a sample first.

Directions:
Apply the tinted face moisturizer by itself, or on top of another moisturizer. The coverage is very sheer, but can be built up by applying more and not rubbing it in too much.

Personal Notes:
I have very pale skin, and needless to say, I often feel like a need a little something to make my skin look more radiant. When I tried other tinted face moisturizers in the past, they often make my face too tan compared to my neck, and it ends up looking like a I have a dirty face. This tinted face moisturizer doesn't have that effect at all. It just creates a gorgeous radiance, even though you can't tell that I'm wearing tinted moisturizer. So, this is going to be a product that I wear daily.

* I wanted to use this for several days before responding. This is exactly what I was looking for. Light coverage that smoothes out my skin and evens out my skin tone. Does it hide all my flaws and blemishes -no, but that wasn't what I was going after anyway. This works well for me because I have true combination skin and after I wash my face it adds enough hydration to not leave dry spots but not so much that I end up greasy. My face feels like it can still breathe using this product, which I can't say for most liquid foundation/tinted covers. It also appears to be healing some of my blemishes since this is the only item in my routine I have changed. I like to add a light layer of powder (also from a company with a great Skin Deep rating) to keep my face matte, though if you wanted more of a "glow" you could skip the powder. I will be back for more of this.
