This is an original painting from a series I did that was inspired by a beautiful book I own which is full of antique illustrations of insects and other natural curiosities. The painting is done on ¼” hardboard in acrylic paint and is signed on the back. I’ve mounted it in a handmade frame my husband built for me. I painted the frame in a matte black finish and the painting is set back in the frame 1/8”.
This piece measures 8.75” x 8.75” square (21.75cm square) including frame and is 1.5” (3.75cm) deep. It hangs flush to the wall by resting inside back of frame on 2 screws, spaced apart a bit and level.
