All of my brooches are one of a kind, made from collaging various bits of vintage paper onto off-cuts of wood and board that otherwise would be thrown away. I laser cut the letters so they are perfectly shaped and sealed at the edges. Each brooch is then given between 2-3 coats of varnish for protection and a super glossy finish. They have been known to survive trips in the washing machine (although such adventures are not recommended).
I try to use as much recycled and reclaimed material in my pieces as possible. This map was badly damaged before I got my hands on it!
