The bezel wire of the earrings are made of brushed brass which I milled in my studio. The bezel platforms and the posts are sterling silver.
SIZE: These earrings average from 5 to 8mm across- please let me know approximately how large you would like yours, and I shall endeavour to find a matched set of crystals in that size. I can even make them tiny, with 3-4mm pieces of pyrite- just ask!
Prior to setting the pyrite crystals, the earrings spend a number of hours in my rock tumbler, hardening up. Then, the pyrite is set into the bezels using jeweler`s epoxy.
The backings of the earrings are snug silicone stoppers.
Please note, these earrings are custom made for you when you order. Your crystals are from the same parcel as the ones in the photo, but will differ in shape. They will be relatively the same size and colour. They will have the same rough, organic texture.
METALS AND FINISHES: I can create your earrings in bright, brushed brass, as you see in the first four photos. I can then lacquer them to preserve their brightness, or can leave the brass raw. The raw brass will mellow and darken over time.
I can also make them in oxidized, brushed brass- the final photo shows an example of how this finish looks. Once I finish brushing the oxidization, the brass is sealed with lacquer to ensure the integrity of the finish doesn't change in time.
If you do not stipulate which finish you would like, your earrings will be built in raw, brushed brass.
