And Spring Arose - original watercolor painting and collage on paper

This watercolour painting/collage is an original (not a print). It is painted on 9" x 12" high quality Arches watercolour paper. It features a cut-out from a Victorian children's book, circa 1889, which has been altered with watercolours.

The title of this painting comes from the following poem:

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

This painting features the artist's signature and the name of the painting on the back.

The painting will arrive packaged in a plastic sleeve between two pieces of cardboard, to prevent any damage during shipping.

This painting is unframed (as this reduces the cost to the buyer and allows you to choose your own frame). However, I have included an example of what the painting could look like in a frame.
