Our line of glass, Ugly Glass. is a line of glass created in our home studio.
This pendant is about 1 inch wide and about 1 1/2 inches long. The bail is an antique silver plated pewter bail, lead free, with about a 5mm hole.
This is one of his capture flowers pendants. The flower is made up of petals in shades of blue and green. The background is a darker blue. A great casual piece.
When he is finished torching the glass, it is then put into a special blanket to cool down. The next process is annealing it in a Kiln at about 1050 degress for a certain amount of time (also called soaking). This brings the glass to a consistant temperature to remove all stress caused from the manufacturing process.
Once it is finished annealing we pull them out of the cooled of fkiln and are often surprise at what we find. Most Borosilicate glass that we work with still changes color during the annealing process. Mostly it brings the color out even more, a brighter more saturated color will come out. It is always fun to see what we get!
One of a Kind - no 2 are ever the same.
