This listing is for patterns for you to knit your own Carnaby Rabbit, shopping basket and carrots. The patterns include instructions and lots of photos to help you make your own rabbit friend.
Please note that this is not a listing for a finished item. This listing is for the knitting patterns only.
The 13 page pattern is written so it is easier for beginners to follow. You will need to be able to do the following stitches/techniques: Knit, Purl, Casting on and off, i-cord, Sewing seams, Increases, Decreases
All pieces are knitted flat on straight needles, except the i-cord pieces which are knitted on two double pointed needles (DPNs).
Finished Size: Rabbit 23 cm tall; Carrot 14cm long; Basket 7cm long x 4cm wide x 12cm high (including handle)
Materials and equipment needed:
Rabbit:
- 4mm straight needles (US size 6)
- 50g worsted weight wool
- Toy stuffing/filling approximately 100g
- Lengths of black and brown wool to embroider nose and eyes
- White fur fabric 10cm x 10cm for tail, or white wool to make a pompom
- Felt fabric 10cm x 10cm for foot pads (optional)
Carrot:
- 3.25mm straight needles (US size 3) and two DPNs 3.25mm
- 20g wool (orange) and 20g wool (green)
- Toy stuffing/filling approximately 10g
Basket:
- 4mm straight needles (US size 6) and two DPNs 4mm
- 30g felted tweed wool (beige)
You will also need a tapestry needle to sew all the pieces together.
You can choose different yarns and needle sizes to those suggested above to make your own original rabbit.
