There are many possibilities to make doll hair. You can stitch it, how it has been practiced for many years at waldorf schools and in hand crafting circles. Another possibility is to crochet a cap, that is sewn onto the doll head as a wig. Into this wig you can knot strands of hair as you like. Fluffy and natural doll hair grows through a special kind of crocheting, that is explained in this tutorial.
This is a clearly described and illustrated tutorial for crocheting simple or fluffy doll wigs and the following steps for creating beautiful and natural doll hairstyles.
Good to know: Because every doll head has a different size and shape and due to individual crocheting styles there are no stitch numbers and measurements in this tutorial. It only teaches the crocheting technique and construction of doll wigs.
