The time for completion is 3-4 wks (once all materials and measurements are gathered).
This is an eye catching pairing of crimson and teal Renaissance gown in 100% cotton velvet and 100%silk.
The bodice main body is made from 100%cotton velvet, interlined by drill, and lined in silk. It is lightly boned in the center front with reed. The silk sleeves are permanently attached (though they are completely finished for easy removal). Pearls (fresh water, salt water, or crystal) are fastened down the front. The lacing holes are hand worked in the back in a spiral fashion(and stays were added after the pics to alleviate the buckling).
The 100%silk sleeves are lined with a broadcloth. The sleeves are sewn into the arm hole though they are completely finished to allow for easy removal.
The overskirt main body is make from 100% cotton velvet and lined with broadcloth. The skirt is cartridge pleated into a waistband.
The forepart is made from a poly/cotton upholstery fabric. It is lined with 100% cotton drill to help keep the farthingale hoops from imprinting itself against the outside of the forepart. The forepart is completely finished and designed to be pinned to an already existing underskirt or farthingale.
The Parlet is made from matching velvet and red silk. It is designed to be closed with hook and eye in the front and tied under the armpit.
