After the birth of Dionysos his jealous stepmother Hera sought to destroy him. So his nurses, the Nymphai Nysiades, screened his crib with ivy-leaves to keep him safely hidden. Kisseis (The Lady of the Ivy) was the name of one of these Nymphs.

These harken back to this fair and shy nymph who undoubtedly had ivy tangled in her hair.

Built upon golden toned metal, these pins end in pressed glass ivy beads. The pins have a total length of 2.5 inches, and are perfect either for decoration, or for holding small pieces of hair back from the face.

For orders over $30 (before shipping costs) I'll include a free gift of matching earrings! For information on shipping, international orders, custom orders and other commonly asked questions, please see my Shop Policies!
