Part of my Azure Pumpkin Collection, my newest design offers a truly unique and luxurious look with the unique lion's mane framing the newborn's face and is a photography prop unlike anything currently available to newborn photographers.
This completely seamless cocoon is one-of-a-kind and is hand knit with two of the finest 100% merino wools available - an undyed handspun Australian Merino wool and another super soft hand dyed and handspun merino - with each of the mane's pieces having been individually hand tied.
The cocoon measures about 18" in length (not stretched) and approximately 6.5" in width, has a gorgeous flowing mane to frame the newborn's face, and is a one-of-a-kind piece. To give it that chunky look, the body of the cocoon is hand knit on large needles with soft 100% Australian merino wool that was handspun in a super bulky thick and thin style. The band and colorful fringe pieces were knit from another wonderful handspun and hand dyed merino wool that was handspun in a thick and thin style.
The body of this cocoon is made with undyed natural merino with a band of gorgeous colors in shades of orange and blue and include pumpkin, vermillion, tangerine, persimmon, apricot, amber, azure, deep sky blue, and sky blue - great colors for your upcoming Spring season photo shoots.
Due to the nature of handspun yarn, this cocoon needs to be hand washed in cool water and mild soap (no Woolite). Gently roll in a towel making sure you do not wring or twist. Lay flat to dry.
Please note that the Lion's Mane Cocoon is intended ONLY as a photography prop and is recommended to be used with a diaper. Please do not leave babies unattended while wearing this cocoon.
This particular handspun yarn is known as slub yarn. As such, it is not intended for heavy wear due to the delicate nature.
