I couldn’t resist this unusual cut of rose quartz. The pink gemstone most often comes in prettier, cuter shapes but I loved the striking contrast between the feminine colour and the strong, geometric shape. These slabs called for a bold, architectural neckpiece that would still retain the softness of the rose quartz.
It’s as if the lavendar-grey agate stones were made to go with the pink rectangles. Candy pink and black rhodonite rounds soften the design and help shape the necklace so that it sits beautifully.
The stones are wire wrapped with silver-filled wire. The clasp is at the side and can be worn to the left or the right. It is an unusual, ornate, Bali silver toggle. The chain is rhodium plated, hammered silver, which is tarnish resistant.
This style of necklace is so easy to throw on when you are in a hurry and have no mirror. The large, frontal clasp is less finicky than standard trigger clasps at the back so 'Mimi' would be ideal for Grandma too!
Oh, and ‘Mimi’ is what my toddler niece calls me, short for Anne-Marie!
