I attended the estate auction of a very prominent area antique dealer last weekend. Bought more than I should have and had a great time. There were so many wonderful items, it was hard to stop bidding! Let me just say that if there was one square foot of space in my home that could accommodate this grouping (and color) you would not be seeing it listed. There is only one way to describe these fish--gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
A bit of information. Norman Jae worked on his own for six years (JAE of California) until his partnership with Ted Ball in 1956 (Ball-Jae of California). These pieces were made by Norman Jae in 1955. There is little known about the Ball-Jae partnership, except that Ball was the Ball associated with the ubiquitous Ball Jar.
On the rare occasions that you see JAE of California, it is usually listed under Ball-JAE of California.
