About the art work:
This image explores the idea of the awakening of an inner world etched into the surface like a story similiar to ice skates leaving upon the ice a brail like poetry. Layers upon the surface, self realisation and new beginnings.
Evoking a layered world where connotations of a rich and complex life that has been carved into the surface and a hidden inner psyche has awakened and is given life.
These are all symbolic vehicles to tell the story of a journey and awakening of an inner ephemeral being that no longer has to loom beneath the surface. e iced body of water, holding a cold beauty in its fragile and changing enviroment; the sky with its mysterious, evocative cloud formations in dramtic plums; the blossoming wallpaper swirls of organic life form peeled back; the moth wakening from it’s nocturnal dark chrysalis to and in an inverted form - discover a new horizon - These are all symbolic vehicles to tell the story of a journey and awakening of an inner ephemeral being etched into this surreal landscape.
