Who's Henry David Thoreau?
Thoreau's works included a number of books, essays, novels, and poems; his most celebrated works deal with natural history and philosophy. An abolitionist, Thoreau also believed in civil disobedience. Thoreau's views on civil disobedience went on to influence leaders such as Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This print shows a multicolored Thoreau set against a bright sunshine background; reminding us that we begin to know only when we forget all we have learned.
