“Phoenix Rising” started with a photo of the stone…I was shopping around for some new stones and this one popped out and called my name. I knew right away what I wanted to do with this lovely agate from Death Valley California (Wingate pass to be specific.) The trouble was how to capture this idea I had in my head in the metal. It took a while, many sketches, many failed attempts…but here it is!
The stone is 29mm by 21mm. The total measurements are 1 7/8 by 3 5/8 inches (48mm x 92mm.) It was a little big for a necklace for everyone, so I put a brooch back on it…but also added loops to connect the chain if you should so wish….it looks pretty neat as a necklace!! The chain is 18 inches long, and has hand forged hook clasps that slip onto the loops at the back of the bird. It is a 3.8mm (almost ¼ inch) wide; a flattened wheat pattern. You can see it in one of the close up photos…it’s pretty neat all on its own.
If you would like gift wrapping and shipping to another address, it is an additional $5. Either convo me before you complete the checkout process so I can adjust the invoice amount, or I will send you another PayPal request for the balance of the gift wrapping.
