These lovely artisan earrings were crafted using the technique of fold forming metal. I heated the sterling with a torch, folded the metal, hammered, then repeated cycles of annealing and hammering. The result is this graceful organic looking leaf, created from fire and silver!
To complete the earring, I made a little ball on the end of a sterling wire with my torch, then soldered it onto the leaf.
The earrings in the first 4 photos have a brushed finish, with a dark patina to accent the folds and creases in the leaves. The last photo shows the earrings with a highly polished finish. I'll make yours for you with the finish you prefer. Just let me know. :)
Each leaf is 3/4 inch wide, 1 inch long, and hangs 1 & 1/4 inches from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the earring.
