Some features~
♥ The moth is a very thin piece of finely cut wood, with a photo on its surface. Yes, wood. It is light-as-a-feather, and provides the illusion that you are wearing a real moth specimen at your throat. The veneer is about 1/8" thick. It's painted plain black on the backside.
♥ The moth is flanked by luminous Aventurine stones, the colour of green Jade.
♥ The veneer has been hand-drilled, and is strung on antiqued brass cable chain, with a matching lobster clasp at the back. The chain measures 8" on either side of the moth, and the moth itself is just over 3" wide.
♥ This necklace should be kept dry, and cannot withstand even light sprinklings of rain. Protect it from moisture as you would a real moth's wings, and it will give you years of compliments and sideways glances from all who see it on you. *wink*

A FEW WORDS ABOUT AVENTURINE: Green Aventurine is a member of the quartz family that forms when quartz is subjected to heat and pressure, causing it to melt and resolidify with other minerals as inclusions. These inclusions in green aventurine are fuschite mica, hematite and pyrite. This is how the color is formed, and shades of green can vary from very dark to very light.
Aventurine can be found in Italy, China, Tibet, Nepal, Brazil, India, Russia, USA, Japan and Tanzania.
It is considered a healing stone to soothe a troubled heart or calm distraught emotions. It is also known as a very lucky stone. It is said that if one holds aventurine in both hands while envisioning prosperity, money and good luck will arrive at one's doorstep!
