All may be stitched as needlepoint pieces or cross stitch, and can be used for so many intriguing and unique projects. Elements within the panels and borders are easily adaptable to unique accessories and purposes - the fox, peering up at the grape vines, the distant castle (there are two), the skating couple, or the boy and girl filling a summer day with music.
We've found that these panels fit some of the handsome dowry boxes available. Sudberry and Olde Colonial are two such makers. Such a dowry box would become an heirloom quality gift.
The fruit and flower panels would be perfect for borders on linens, book marks, even cuffs and down the fronts & across backs of shirts. Precious needlework tools may find homes in scissors cases, needle books, needle rolls, cushions, project bag or little purse - all can be embellished with these attractive designs.
In addition to the panels you can see above, here are the two that are hidden in the front views. You can see all on my website at www.temptingtangles.com on the "Watermeadows 19 Panels" page. There you will find the monogram panel; also the inner dedication panel. Fonts are provided for your personalization.
These lovely designs were created with Vikki Clayton's hand made antique reproduction needlework casket in mind, yet they are adaptable to so many more uses. You can read more about her casket at Vikki Clayton Hand Dyed Fibers under the "Needlework Boxes" section.
