Crystal Greens - Swarovski and Cathedral Bead dangle earrings

A pretty combination of two bead collector favorites and sure to hold the fascination, Swarovski Cubes and vintage Cathedral beads have been added together. Cathedral beads (also called window beads) are usually 6 sided cylinder beds with are made in such a way that they appear capped by a contrasting color, usually in metallics or black. They have been made for many years, but a recent upsurge in popularity in recent years they have been reintroduced into the market. These particular ones are vintage and in a deep forest green shade with a silvery cap effect, and they compliment the Black Diamond Swarovski Crystal element cubes, quite nicely, especially when I added some gunmetal round beads atop the two beads creating a graduated effect.

They have been wire wrapped on gunmetal balled head pins and I oxidized the sliver plated open loop lever back earrings from which they hang. These open loops are nice because the earrings can be swapped up to sterling, if desired (The lever backs while functional, aren’t of the same workmanship and quality as sterling silver, but they do work if lined up well when closing their backs!) I have never lost one yet!
