The shape of these earrings remind me of heraldic shields as seen in medieval coats of arms, but the colors are pure peppermint: deep red stripes and a glaze of white bring out the natural peculiarities of the leather. Dangling from the shields are delicate white freshwater pearls and a rich crimson faceted glass roundel which glitters in the light. The leather shields hang from handcrafted sterling silver ear wires which have been hammered lightly for strength and texture.
measurements • leather shields are about 1" wide by 1" long; including the ear wire, each earring is about 2" long
materials • hand-carved & stained leather; sterling silver wire; freshwater pearls; faceted glass beads
