This ring is built around magnificent specimens of three different types of quartz- purple amethyst, aqua aura quartz, and opal aura quartz. The bezel is around 1 1/4" in length. The highest crystal will reach about 3/4"- 1" from the bottom of the bezel. The ring band is 3/8" wide (the bands on the two rings in the photos are a slightly thinner 1/4"), and is made to fit your finger. I can also create this as comfortable, adjustable band if you would like.
I use my torch to create an intricate, organic texture on the bezel. As this intense process can be somewhat unpredictable, your bezel may differ somewhat from the two pieces you see here. However, it will be just as compelling as these rings are. As well, as each crystal termination is its own unique specimen, your crystals may vary somewhat in appearance from what you see here. I always send photos of the ring with the crystals in place, but not permanently set, so you have a chance to view my creation and request any changes, which will happily be made for you. Then, once the crystals are permanently set at the bezel is closed and molded around them, another set of photos of completed ring are sent for approval prior to shipping.
The crystals are all firmly embedded into the bezel using jeweler`s epoxy. The band is sterling silver, and the bezel is a mix of sterling and fine silver. The ring will be given a brushed matte lustre, and will spend a few hours in my rock tumbler, hardening up, before I set the crystals. This process strengthens the metal and provides a more durable finish.
