This is a handmade ornament of my original design. My hand-carved original design was pressed into a smooth lump of clay in my studio, dried, cleaned, kiln-fired, watercolor-glazed by hand at my kitchen table, glazed and fired again. A lump of clay is now a one-of-a-kind miniature work of art.
It measures approximately 3” to 3.5” and arrives ready to hang, complete with sturdy cotton hanging cord and info card. (Add a special date, a personal message, or “To/From” to the back with an ordinary sharpie to create a personalized gift or giant gift tag!)
This piece of handmade art makes a unique and delightful conversation piece or a thoughtful gift. I hope you enjoy it!
This image was based on a regal great blue heron that took up residence in a semi-secluded pond in Glendale, Wisconsin, that I pass everyday on my commute to my desk (ugh!) job. Seeing him each morning was inspiring. I hope sharing him will inspire you.
All my pieces, large and small, are made by hand in my little studio or in my Milwaukee backyard, often using whatever foliage is handy and in season!
