- Gary Snyder from The Practice of the Wild
Dangling from chunky brass chain are the footprints of five creatures that wander though Penn's forests and my own inner landscape. I have had the privilege of encountering all but one of these animals in the wild...in some cases I am thankful that my encounters were from a safe and respectful distance. From left to right, the impressions represent the trails left by Black Bear, White-tailed Deer, Red Fox, Wild Turkey, and Bobcat. Alternating between the charms are two varieties of wooden beads, representing the habitat of these creatures.
This bracelet closes with a handmade brass hook closure.
The individual charms are handcrafted of vegetable-tanned leather which have been carved and tooled into low-relief sculptures. They were then stained to highlight the details. They have been sealed with a protective coating to help ensure that they retain their loveliness for a long time, but please keep this bracelet dry and out of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to help ensure its longevity.
