The premium altered bento/lunch box features a black kitty cat on pink and white. And it's "Papier Creature Land" lunch box by Artemis made of higher quality plastics than most other bentos - PP, PE and AS plastic. It has two compartments and a divider for the top tier. Only a certain number of these are made (each year new designs are offered). And they're almost impossible to find now as they've been very popular bento boxes!
Bento is modified with a snug fitting fabric "Bento Harness" that snaps closed to hold the box sections together.
Chopsticks are included in this set and fit inside the top lid of the bento.
Great size for a kid’s or ladies lunch! Excellent for portion control!

Personally, I don't microwave my bento boxes, though the manufacturer says it's ok to microwave this bento (not any of the accessories, harness, or the lid). If you use your bento in the microwave, remove the lid. Don't re-heat acidic or oily, sugary, or high fat content foods.
Box can be put in the dishwasher. Though I hand wash mine. It's quick and easy. (Many in my collection of bento boxes have survived the dishwasher in the top rack, but the decoration on the top will rub off.)
Cotton "Bento Harness" is removable for cleaning. Machine wash. Tumble dry.
** What I love about using bento boxes **
- It's a great gauge for how much my son should be eating. When packed properly, this sized lunch box will provide him enough calories and yet he usually eats everything in the box. I know he gets a healthy lunch!
- It's also a great measure for my own lunches. I find the bento box method very handy for helping me watch my weight and count calories. If packed properly the number of milliliters is approximately the number of calories in your lunch.
- You know what your kids eat. If my son doesn't eat something it comes home and I can talk with him about it and see if he doesn't like that food anymore.
- Its better for the environment! Lunch waste is reduced drastically. I rarely use disposable plastic bags, cups or plastic silverware anymore.
- You can save money! I don't buy many of the expensive prepackaged convenience foods anymore.
