This wall pocket is hand formed with a red terra-cotta clay, fired in a kiln to nearly 2000 degrees and then glazed and fired again, sometimes twice, to achieve a glass-like finish. Then we finish our pockets off with wire or leather to hang them and decorate them with our own hand-made ‘dingles’.
Due to variations in how they fire, they are not guaranteed to be water-proof (hold water) or to be weather resistant to extreme cold. They will, however, be perfectly happy hung outside in the heat and you can always plant an ‘air’ plant in them. Dirt is fine too, as long as you realize it will drain out whatever gap there is.
They are best hung on an inside wall with dried flowers or, if you use real flowers, put the stems in a small water container that fits inside of the pocket.
Please note: flowers shown are NOT included.
