Created from "junk" paper collected by myself and with contributions from http://Crafterall.etsy.com
Each tag is unique and made with a screen and then shaped and hand-cut into a CARDINAL and measures approx. 4.5" X 1.25". The front of the tag is Cerise colored and the back of the tag is Overcast colored. They have a quilted like appearance and the seeds are visible giving the tags loads of visual appeal!
They have been triple pressed and dried indoors to preserve the color.
All the paper content is 100% recycled.
They hang with a 12" piece of high-quality, waxed(a cornstarch-based wax) hemp twine threaded through the black metal eyelets.
They have been stamped on the backs with simple planting instructions using my own custom stamp made by http://terbearco.etsy.com and the official Green Post freshness stamp.
NOTE:
Color may vary slightly from batch to batch due to the nature of recycled/upcycled content.
Slight discoloration on the tags may occur over time due to the natural reaction of the seeds leaching their germination inhibitor coating into the surrounding paper fibers. My intentions are for the tags to be planted within 6 months of creation and the sooner the better for successful germination.
Also, I do not add any sizing or other archival ingredients to the paper itself so that the tag will biodegrade easily and the seeds can more easily germinate.
Remember, seeds are organic living things and are subject to natural laws of change.
The seeds are viable for a year or more if they are stored in a dry, dark and cool location and are stamped on the backs with my official freshness stamp.

According to Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply,
"Growing Wildflowers:
Fall and spring are the best times to plant wildflowers. Wildflowers grow best on sites with full sun, low nitrogen, low fertility and with existing stands of shorter grasses for soil stabilization. Above all, they must be protected from heavy weed competition. To speed germination, put your seeds in the freezer for 1 or 2 days, then thaw for 1 day, repeating the process 3 to 4 times. Broadcast at 1/4 Lb per 1,000 sq ft, or 125 seeds per square foot, and plant to a depth of 1/8 to . Many wildflowers are drought-tolerant once established, but they must receive adequate water for their initial growth."
