It is designed to fit into most cupholders in todays vehicles. I drive a 2003 Subaru Forrester, pictured. It shows how the extra long foot nests into your cupholder, safe from tipping when you hit the brakes or curves with a little too much gusto!
As I mentioned above, this is larger than my "usual" 18 oz size. It stands 8" tall, widens out and cinches in at the top to fit my 2.5" cork. It holds 3 cups of your favorite beverage.
The corks are dishwasher safe (road tested by a friend who has a dishwasher...:)) I think microwaves tend to do weird things to the cork and leather, so I would recommend detaching the cork from the mug if you want to "nuke" your coffeee. I do have replacement corks for this size, in a separate listing. $5, free shipping. It's nice to have spares~ and a new cork every now and then makes it seem like a brand new mug :)
My pottery is made from stoneware, one of the most durable of clay bodies. It is made to be used! It is reduction fired to 2300 degrees, making it oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. The glazes I mix myself contain no lead or other materials hazardous to your health.
