How it works: You purchase this item and pay for it. I will send you either a digital or physical copy of your actual gift certificate (your choice). This certificate will have a code on it. The user will purchase their item(s) as usual from my etsy store but instead of paying will enter the code into the "message to seller" field. I will send a revised paypal invoice for any remaining balance due, and any remaining balance associated with the certificate may be used at a future date.
Just to keep my bookkeeping rational, I'm putting a 2 year expiration date on the cards. Hopefully that's enough time for everyone.
NOTE: Why $36? Well, for one, it happens to be a nice number between 25 and 50. Also, 18 and all of its multiples are considered "lucky numbers" in Judaism. In Hebrew, each letter has a numerical value much like roman numerals. When added, the value of the letters of the word Chai, which means life, equal 18. Hence it is traditional to give gifts in multiples of 18 as a wish for a long life.
