This little outfit has four fluffy layers of fabric in total: the top layer of the nightie is sheer nylon chiffon, while the underlayer is opaque nylon. The peignoir/robe has two sheer layers. I showed the garment cinched with a ribbon "belt" in the first photo -- the ribbon is not included, but it would be very easy to add your own if you'd like some waist definition.
I will be listing many more lovely vintage clothing and lingerie items in the days to come! Here are some foxy 60s things to get you started:
Because of its billowy, poufy nature, this nightie will fit a variety of sizes, from small to at least a largeish- medium. It has no size tag. The fabric has some stretch. Measurements for the gown are as follows:
Bust: 18 inches flat (36 doubled)
Waist: 21 inches flat (42 doubled)
Hip: 24 inches flat (48 doubled)
Length (center front collar to bottom hem): 23.5 inches
The model is 5'4" and measures 32.5/27/34.5. The nightie fits her with plenty of room to spare.
Very good vintage condition! Overall this nightie looks very bright and fresh, with no discoloration, tears, or holes - very wearable. It has been gently laundered, so it will arrive to you clean. It does have a few minor imperfections:
- When you look very closely, you can see a smattering of little pulls in the fabric -- this is pretty much ubiquitous with vintage nylon chiffon.
- There is a repair approximately 4.25 inches long at the bottom of one side seam. It is done with matching thread. The repair is done carefully, but that part of the seam is very slightly uneven. The imperfection gets lost in the billowy folds of the fabric when the garment is being worn.
- There are places where the bottom hem stitching has begun to come loose. Because of the "rolled" appearance of the hems, this is hard to see unless you're hunting for it; however, you may wish to reinforce the hems.
