Here is a hat that will not come off and keep your child OUT of earaches and IN style. I am nutty about hoods and scarves - got to cover those ears and necks - got to keep the colds away!. The problem is - most children's hats will not do at all - too easy to take off, too shallow to cover ears and back of neck, too dorky to look at, too acrylic and staticky... What's a fashionable mother to do! :) So, avid knitter as I am, I designed The Hat.

I am extremely choosy when it comes to materials - NO SYNTHETICS ever, only the best quality natural fibers are good enough to put on one's skin (in my opinion).
My yarn of choice for this garment - the softest hand spun, hand dyed Malabrigo merino wool in gorgeous festive RED color - perfect for BOY or GIRL. This yarn it very supple, doesn't itch - in fact, it feels quite dreamy! I used size US 6 bamboo needles (hours of tedious work - this is no quick-n-chunky-cheap-yarn-ill-fitted handycraft!) in ribbed 2x2 knit.
The combination of from and function in this design makes for a cozy and stylish look (with point at the top being the highlight :).
Lyalya Hoodie Hats easily fit under a coat hood for more warmth on some of those brutal winter days. It is the perfect head cover for an active child (or adult, for that matter - I made this hat in bigger size to fit the parent - available on request)
This design is very stretchy and will fit children from toddlers trough teens (the model in photos is 3, but the hat has room to grow into).
