There are 192 cream pages (when you count both sides of each sheet) and the paper is thick drawing paper with torn edges.
This journal has a wrap-around cover with the natural hide edge on the front flap. The cover is kept neat with a strap that wraps around.
The pages are handbound using a combination of longstitch and chainstitch binding techniques, sewn with purple linen thread and visible on the spine in an X pattern. This type of binding makes a very sturdy and practical book structure that opens flat.

About the Artist, Rhonda Miller
I have been bookbinding and experimenting in the realm of book arts for over ten years. My handbound journals are made very carefully, one at a time, to ensure that they are both durable and beautiful. Many of the techniques employed in creating a journal are centuries old and I am constantly working to learn more about ancient bookbinding methods that can be used with modern materials to make unique and functional journals.
