Amethyst is February's birthstone. It's properties include the ability to protect, purify, release addictions and increase divine connections. It's associated with the element of wind and activates the third eye (6th chakra) and crown chakra (7th). Amethyst should not be exposed to lots of sunlight because prolonged exposure can fade it's purple color.
