1930s Lush Merlot Crushed Velvet Evening Coat

This is just an exquisite and luxurious satin lined 1930s silk velvet evening coat. Perfect for wear over your glamorous gown this holiday season. Both the outer velvet and the inner satin lining are a rich dark raspberry or merlot color. The coat has two covered buttons that allow the wearer to wear the garment with lapels folded down and closed at the waist like a single breasted coat or buttoned closed at both the waist and at the left side of the neck for more warmth and drama (I'm wild about the shape of the deco lapel and how it creates a fantastic asymmetrical look when the top button is fastened). Absolutely stunning wide bell or bishop shaped sleeves. Inner tag indicates item was sold by the high end Canadian shop, "Stark's Furs, Toronto" (but this is NOT an item made of fur). Truly, this gorgeous piece is the height of deco beauty and glamour!!!

Note: I'm a 36-30-40 and this coat just fit me with buttons closed. It was snug in the shoulders, though, as I am 15.5 in this area, and I wouldn't have minded just a smidge more room in the bust and waist. Recommend wearer's measurements are a bit smaller than those of the garment, for best fit (coat should be neither too loose nor too tight...bearing in mind this item was designed to be worn over lighter evening wear, as opposed to bulkier garments)
